Build your story from the ground up
Build your story from the ground up
Blueprint for a Book goes beyond simply plotting your book. Under the direction of a book coach, you will drill down into the most important elements that will drive your story or argument forward. Without these in place before you start writing, you could risk YEARS of frustration and a book that goes NOWHERE.
SPECIALIZED COURSEWORK FOR FICTION, NONFICTION, AND MEMOIR WRITERS
FOR FICTION WRITERS
FOR NONFICTION WRITERS
FOR MEMOIR WRITERS
Dig Into Your Story
Blueprint for a Book is 6 or 7 weeks long depending on your genre. (Fiction writers with stories that contain sci-fi or fantasy elements will spend an extra week world-building: defining the rules of the world they are creating for their characters.)
Get Personalized Feedback AS YOU WRITE*
You will be paired with a book coach with expertise in your genre. Your coach will guide you through each element of your book concept with detailed feedback and support. You can expect a summary note and comments on your pages within 72 hours. Comments range from the big picture structure to detailed questions about character.
Establish Great Writing Habits
You will get a new lesson and assignment each week, and a submission calendar invite so you'll always remember your submission date.* We'll give you a weekly workbook to draft your assignments, so all you have to do is send the completed workbook to your coach at the end of the week. They'll give you their feedback right on those pages!*
Prepare for Success
At the end of the course, you will have the following:
*NOTE: The Blueprint Sneak Peek (free) and self-study course (priced at $199) do not include feedback. Self-study writers will have the option to purchase feedback at an additional cost.
The low-down on the application: This is NOT about the quality of your idea or your writing. This is ENTIRELY about whether the course will be a good fit for you. Blueprint for a Book is a fantastic program for new writers, writers with new ideas, and writers who want to rescue a story that's not working. It is not appropriate for someone who wants to crank out a lot of pages fast, or someone who has a complete draft that they feel is already working.
