Self-Publishing with Confidence

Writer Taryn East and her book coach, Erin Michelle Gibes, are celebrating the publication of Taryn’s urban fantasy romance, The Conjunction.

How were you involved in Taryn’s writing process leading up to publication?

I did a developmental edit with Taryn and worked with her on how to use the Inside/Outline for revisions. I also gave feedback on her outline for the next book in the series, King Tide.

What publishing route was taken for this project and why?

Taryn is a perfect candidate for self-publishing. She's not only a skilled writer, but she knows her genre inside and out and has an entire series planned. I'm so excited for the first book in this series to get into the hands of readers!

What are you most proud of in this coaching relationship?

I'm so proud of Taryn's tenacity, confidence, and dedication to her craft. She's a busy single mom who also works full time in addition to her writing. This is a dream she's had for a long time and I'm thrilled to see how far she's come.

Why would you recommend a book coach to get to this point in the writing journey?

Self-published authors need help in their process just as much as traditionally published authors, even highly skilled writers who know their genre as well as Taryn does. I think getting a second set of eyes on her work and having someone to talk through the developmental changes needed for The Conjunction was really helpful for Taryn's confidence in her process.

Congratulations to Erin and Taryn!
