Please note: Author Accelerator coaches are independent contractors who we train and certify. They each set their own prices and offer their own packages to help you do your best work. The FAQ below gives a range of possible prices. Our coaches can help you do the work you need to do in order to feel confident about resubmitting to She Writes Press or SparkPress and they can talk to you about other publishing options, but book coaching does not guarantee acceptance to any specific publishing programs.

A dedicated and professional book coach trained and certified in our premier Book Coach Certification program, developed by Author Accelerator founder and CEO Jennie Nash. All of our coaches have been trained and certified on the editorial feedback system that Jennie developed, and stand on their ability to edit for mechanics, content, and flow, as well as their project-management skills and compassion toward writers.

The book coach we match you with will recommend a coaching program based on your particular needs. They will be honest and upfront with you about the costs and expected timeline of your work together.
Each writer’s coaching experience will be tailored to you, your project, your goals, and your needs. Our certified coaches offer programs to help you at any stage – whether you're just starting out, stuck in the middle, or ready to pursue publication.

Prices vary. You will pay your coach directly for whatever coaching package you decide to do. Our coaches operate independently and set their own prices, and prices vary depending on the scope of work involved. Monthly coaching programs typically start at $400 USD per month, but can range up to $1,000 USD per month, depending on the level of support or customization involved. An evaluation of your compete manuscript may be in the range of $800 to $3,000 or more depending on the length.

Every professional editor works on the assumption that the writer owns the execution of their ideas. To do otherwise would be reckless and unconscionable. Copyright does not protect an idea, though; it protects the execution of that idea. A thousand writers could be writing about Abraham Lincoln or the zombie apocalypse or a haunted bullet train, but each of their stories would be different. So you can never really say that someone stole an idea, or used your idea. You can, of course, argue if someone literally steals your executed pages — and published writers report this as a problem with pirated material — but that is a very different thing than protecting an idea. No member of the Author Accelerator staff will ever use the execution of another writer's idea in any capacity without consent.

No. Book coaches cannot guarantee acceptance into any publishing program. Acceptance depends on a wide variety of factors, including luck and timing. Your coach can help you decide when you are ready to resubmit to She Writes Press or Spark Press, and can advise you on other paths to publication.
